Madison Park

While best known for their Billboard Dance Chart hits “Ocean Drive” and remake of Roxy Music’s “More Than This”, Madison Park is downtempo duo, James and DeAnna Cool.

A marriage of music and mayhem, the couple launched the record label, basicLUX Records in 2002 and produced a series of compilation CD’s, (amongst them the New Sound Theory series), which naturally featured tracks by the duo. After much attention to their own musical contributions to the series and various other projects and compilations, Madison Park then released their debut full-length CD, Boutique, in 2004. The first single from the album, entered as the Hot Shot Debut on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart peaking at #12. In 2005, Madison Park’s remake of Roxy Music’s‘”More Than This” also charted on Billboard’s Dance Top 30. In 2006, the pair released their second studio album, In The Stars, where “I’m Listening” became their fourth Billboard charting track. (“My Personal Moon” being the third.)In 2007 Madison Park produced remixes for Sony Legacy’s Remixed and Reimagined series. The first album in the Legacy Remixed series was released by Sony BMG. The collection is comprised of songs by Nina Simone and included remixes by Coldcut, Francois K, Chris Coco and Tony Humphries.

Madison Park teamed up with well-known producer, Lenny B, to rework “The Look of Love” that ultimately found its way onto the Sex And The City soundtrack in 2008. It also appeared in the Sex And The City movie, also 2008. The next remix Madison Park produced for Sony Legacy was Billie Holiday’s “I’m Gonna Lock My Heart”, also released by Sony BMG on Billie Holidays: Remixed and Reimagined. The Madison Park remix appeared in an episode of Nip/Tuck in 2007 as well as appearing on dozens. compilation CD’s. After appearing in various TV shows and networks such as Castle, Brotherhood, Nip Tuck, A&E, Fox, MTV… And releasing many CD-singles in between, Madison Park released their third full-length album, Another Yesterday, in December 2008. Two singles were released from the album including “Come Out And Play” and the title track “Another Yesterday” ”in 2009; both garnering heavy dance radio and club play.

In 2010, Madison Park released “I Stumble, Fall”. With a variety of remixes released as two separate CD’s; the remixers included Sirius-radio’s Mike Bordes, Boston resident DJ JST, and Amsterdam-based, Beechkraft. “I Stumble, Fall” was the second Madison Park remix by the Amsterdam-based producer. The first being “Another Yesterday”. And immediately following this second remix, Madison Park began collaborating on original material with Beechkraft. The first collaboration is titled “Fascinated” and is set to release September 16, 2011. Be on the look-out.
